Proud to be a member of Imagine Canada's Ethical Code Program

Stratford Meals on Wheels & Neighbourly Services places a high value on our relationship with you, our donors. Without your support we would not be able to achieve our mission to help bring independence home for Stratford and area's seniors and persons with disabilities. We thank you for your commitment to us.
We believe that transparency and accountability are essential to our success. With this in mind, we have recently joined Imagine Canada’s Ethical Code Program.
The Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code lays out a set of standards for charitable organizations to manage and report their financial affairs responsibly. By adhering to these standards, we are complying with generally accepted practices for soliciting and managing donor dollars. This is important because you, our supporters, are entitled to transparency and the greatest impact possible for your investment in us.

Cash or cheque made payable to "Stratford Meals on Wheels" are accepted.
One of the biggest misconceptions about leaving a bequest to a charitable organization is that it is complex and only for the wealthy or those who have no children. That cannot be further from the truth. A bequest is one of the simplest ways to make a gift to a charitable organization, usually for a significantly larger amount then you ever imagined. A bequest may take the form of a specified cash amount, a list of securities or property, or a percentage of the estate. No matter the form of gift the bequest takes, the estate and possibly the preceding tax year realize the tax benefit.
In Memoriam or In Honour Giving provides you, the donor, with the opportunity to remember special individuals with a tribute gift. Gifts may be made "In Memory of" an individual to commemorate a loved one's life. Gifts may also be made "In Honour of" an individual who is special in your life and may be made in honour of special occasions, such as birthdays, graduations and anniversaries. At your request, Stratford Meals on Wheels & Neighbourly Services will send a hand-written card to the individual whom you designate to notify them of your gift. The amount will not be disclosed.
Stratford Meals on Wheels & Neighbourly Services collects Zehrs grocery receipts. Zehrs will donate a percentage of the total amount of receipts we return to them. You can drop your receipts into a box at Zehrs or you can drop them off at our office. If you have saved your receipts please consider putting them in one of our boxes. Every penny helps us deliver services to seniors and adults with disabilities in the community.
You can donate your Video Plus Books + CDs points to Stratford Meals on Wheels & Neighbourly Services. As part of the VPB+CDs value added program customers are offered points which they can collect and use for future in-store purchases and purchases at other retail stores and restaurants. If customers choose not to collect the points they are offered the chance to donate their points to one of the 24 different charity containers located at the front of the store. For each point delivered VPB+CDs donated 2 cents to that agency. The next time you are in the market for the latest and greatest movies, music, games and books drop by VPB+CDs and when you do please consider donating your points to Stratford Meals on Wheels & Neighbourly Services.
On behalf our our clients we would like to thank all the individuals, service groups, churches and organizations who have directed their donor dollars to Stratford Meals on Wheels & Neighbourly Services. Your generosity is helping us to "Bring Independence Home" to so many in our community!
