Instead of eating by yourself why not join us for lunch? We do the preparing, serving and clean-up while you enjoy your meal and great conversation! Round trip transportation is available at a discounted rate.

Diners' Club is a meal service that is intended to increase opportunities for nutritional and social support among seniors.  Meals are served at many convenient locations .  Each meal consists of a salad, entree (meat, potato & vegetable), juice and a dessert.  The meals contain 40% of the daily recommended intake for a senior citizen.

In addition optional educational and recreation activities are available:

"Stay & Play Cards" is available at Greenwood Court. A CHAP Blood pressure clinic will also be offered at the first Greenwood Diner's Club each month starting in October 2010.

"Learn & Lunch" takes place at St. John's United Church.  This Diners' Club begins at 11:00 am with an educational component, followed by lunch at noon. Please note there will be no Learn & Lunch in September. October's topic will be "How Healthy is Your Breathing?" with David Querin. November's topic will be "What Can Your Pharmacist Do For You?" with Greg Becotte, at a special time of 1:00 pm.

A book exchange is available at the Community of Christ Diners' Club.

All Diners' Clubs take place at noon.

If this program is already being offered in your building, just sign up on the list posted on the bulletin board by the Monday before the meal.  If you would like to attend Diners' Club in another location call the office (519-271-2217 ext. 30) to register by the Monday before the program date.

Clients pay a fee of $7.75 per meal to cover the cost of the food preparation.

Round trip transportation is provided by EasyRide and is available at the round trip rate of $6.50. Please inform Laura if you require transportation when you call to register for the meal.

Volunteer Opportunity: Diners' Club Helper

Assist at Diners' Club.  Help set up tables, serve food and clean up afterwards.  Time commitment is about 2 hours per Diners' Club. You may help out at whatever Diner's Club best suits your schedule.

Wheels to Meals is a dining program that takes place at the Kiwanis Community Centre. It is a program intended to increase nutritional and social opportunities for seniors and adults with disabilities.

All food is prepared by the Spruce Lodge kitchen and served by volunteers with the Lakeside Seniors Association.

Meals are served at the Kiwanis Community Centre the first and third Tuesday of each month.

Please note that there are no programs during the months of July and August.

Clients pay a fee of $7.50 to cover the cost of food preparation.

To register for Wheels to Meals call the Kiwanis Centre by noon, the day before the meal at 519-271-4310.

If you require transportation please advise when you call to register. Transportation is included in the price of the meal.
