Each year, with the caring assistance of our Board of Directors and Volunteers, Stratford Meals on Wheels & Neighbourly Services provides Community Support Services to over 1,600 seniors and adults with disabilities.

 

Home is where the heart is.

If you want to stay independent in your own home for as long as possible we offer a variety of Nutrition, Transportation, Wellness and Friendship services designed to support the changing needs of today's seniors and adults with disabilities.

Whether you are interested in services to assist either you or a family member with maintaining independence and wellness, are looking for flexible volunteer opportunities within Stratford and area, or would like to make a donation and/or support our fundraising program you are sure to find the information you need here.

During the 2009-2010 Fiscal Year 1,671 seniors and persons with disabilities benefitted from services offered by Stratford Meals on Wheels & Neighbourly Services. In total 57,134 units of service were delivered.

Wellness ConferenceThis year's topic is "Healthy Ways to Prevent a Stroke". The conference takes place on September 29th from 9:15 am to 3:00 pm at Knox Church. Cost is $15 and includes lunch provided by Stratford Northwestern Secondary School.

Did you know? Stroke is the 4th leading cause of death in Canada. Forty to fifty thousand Canadians experience a stroke every year; 15% die and 75% are left with some degree of difficulty.

This educational event will provide you with an opportunity to learn about stroke prevention from experts in the field. We will address stroke prevention from the perspective of managing stroke risk factors. Content for this workshop is based on the stroke prevention sections of the Canadian Best Practice Recommendations for Stroke Care.
